Case study 2

“A Sustainable Community”

Project Details
Client: Residential (Condo)
Location: Jerseyville, IL – USA
System Type: Wind Energy Generation System
Completed: 2011

In January 2011, 32 eddyGT 1 kW turbines were installed at the new Lexington Farms residential Condo development in suburban St. Louis. This development is the first LEED Platinum community of its kind in the United States. The community was built for low income families. The wind and solar systems were activated at the beginning of April 2011 and have resulted in lowered electric bills for the residents.

Each household is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies to help cut down on the community footprint including:

• 1Kw eddyGT Urban Green Energy vertical axis wind turbine
• 7200W photovoltaic roof panels
• ENERGY STAR appliances
• Low-flow water fixtures and WaterSense toilets
• Sustainable landscaping illumination with efficient irrigation systems.
• Energy efficient florescent light fixtures.

The added value resulting from the savings of the energy costs for the residents have resulted in an incremental residual cost savings and resale value of each household property, which pleases the renters with energy savings, and the household owners with returns of investment with increased property values and energy savings.
